I Know the dj 6/15/23

My love for music started with my dad blasting old-school rock any time we were in the car, and it quickly expanded into everything from R&B to pop—though I still haven’t quite come around to country (maybe one day). I got exposed to EDM culture later in life. Growing up in Vegas and going to music festivals and concerts, I discovered the beauty of a live DJ set, and I never looked back.

Still, I always stayed in the crowd—maybe messing around on a friend’s board here and there, but nothing too serious. In 2023, I bought my FLX-4, and after hours of mixing alone in my room and traveling to different cities to hear other people’s shows, I eventually found my sound.

My sets are a fusion of global dancefloor culture, blending the raw percussion of Baile funk, the bouncy breaks of Jersey club, and the steady pulse of house. Once I settled into a sound that felt authentic, everything clicked.

Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to work with some of my favorite local DJs and friends, start a monthly residency at International Artist Lounge, collaborate with events like Mutiny Music Collective, Rainbow Room, and the Sorry Papi Tour, and open shows for DJs I had only ever dreamed of supporting.

With these opportunities came a chance to develop skills like building my personal brand in a professional way, pushing creativity past my comfort zone, and learning how to bring other artists into projects in a way that feels authentic and collaborative.
